This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App") and our services. Please read this privacy policy carefully. 1. Information We Collect

We may collect information about you in a variety of ways. The information we may collect via the App depends on the content and materials you use, and includes:

Personal Data

While using our App, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information ("PII") that can be used to contact or identify you. This includes:

  • Account Information: Your first name, last name, and email address when you register for an account.
  • Profile Information: Your preferred base currency for financial calculations.
  • Contact Information: Your email address if you join our waitlist or submit feedback.

Financial Data

This is the core data you provide to use our App's features. This data is owned by you and is stored securely on our servers. This includes:

  • Account Details: Information about your financial accounts, such as account name, type (e.g., bank, cash), balance, and currency.
  • Transaction Details: Information about your income, expenses, transfers, and recurring transactions, including amount, description, category, and date.
  • Debt and Receivable Data: Information about your debtors (money owed to you) and creditors (money you owe), including names, contact information, amounts, and descriptions.
  • Client and Project Data: For our freelancer tools, we store information on your clients, projects (including budgets and status), and associated tasks.

AI Assistant Data

To provide the Moniva AI feature, we collect the messages you send and maintain a conversation history. This history is linked to your account to provide a continuous and context-aware experience.

Subscription Data

When you subscribe to Moniva Pro, your payment is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store your credit card information. We receive a purchase token or transaction ID from the app store to verify and manage your subscription status, including its expiry date and whether it's active.

Device and Technical Data

We automatically collect information to ensure the security of your account and to enable core features:

  • Device Information: We collect your device's User-Agent string and IP address to help you manage your active sessions and enhance account security.
  • Push Notification Tokens: If you grant permission, we collect a unique, anonymous token from your device to send you push notifications, such as payment reminders.

2. How We Use Your Information

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we use information collected about you via the App to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Provide the core functionality of the App, such as tracking transactions, calculating analytics (net worth, spending by category), and managing projects.
  • Power the Moniva AI assistant by processing your financial data and conversation history to respond to your queries.
  • Send you push notifications for important reminders, such as upcoming due dates for debts or bills.
  • Manage your subscription status through third-party app stores.
  • Monitor your active sessions and provide security features like "log out from all devices".
  • Respond to your feedback and support requests.
  • Compile anonymous, aggregated statistical data and analysis for internal use to improve the App.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell your personal or financial data. We may share information we have collected about you with trusted third-party service providers to perform services on our behalf. These providers are obligated to protect your data and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: Your data is stored on secure servers managed by our cloud hosting provider.
  • AI Service Provider (Google): To power the Moniva AI feature, your queries and relevant anonymized financial data are securely transmitted to Google's Generative AI services for processing. We do not permit Google to use this data for training their models or for any purpose other than providing the AI response to you.
  • Push Notification Provider (Google Firebase): We share your push notification token with Google Firebase to deliver notifications to your device.
  • Payment Processors (Apple, Google): To manage your subscription, we interact with the respective app stores. We do not handle or see your payment details.
  • Transactional Email Provider (Resend): We use Resend to send you emails when you join our waitlist or when we respond to your feedback.
  • By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.

4. Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. This includes encrypting data in transit (using TLS/SSL) and at rest, hashing passwords, and storing sensitive tokens securely. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

5. Your Data Rights and Choices

You have control over your personal information and can exercise your rights at any time:

  • Access and Update: You can review and change your personal and financial data at any time by logging into your account settings within the App.
  • Manage Sessions: You can review your active login sessions and log out of specific devices from within the App's security settings.
  • Push Notifications: You can opt out of receiving push notifications by changing the notification settings on your device.
  • Data Deletion: You have the right to permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the App's settings. This action is irreversible and will remove all your personal and financial data from our active databases.

6. Data Retention

We will retain your personal and financial information for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account, we will permanently delete your data from our active systems as described above. We may retain anonymized and aggregated data indefinitely for analytical and improvement purposes.
